Sharing Connection Between Win Xp and Ubuntu

Hi,

I'm new to Ubuntu but I'm going to say that it is possible. I did something very similar the other night with my friends playstation 3. ADSL->USB modem->XP PC->Play station. A router would be easier but it would probably mean dumping your usb modem unless it also has an ethernet connection.

You have to enable 'internet connection sharing' on your xp pc:
1. Control Panel
2. Switch to Classic View (in top left corner). If it says switch to category view it can be left alone.
3. Double click on Network Connections
4. Right click on your internet connection and click Properties
5. Click the advanced tab.
6. Tick the 'allow other users to connect...' box and choose 'Local area connection' in the home networking drop down box.
7. Click OK.

It should now change your local area connection's ip address to 192.168.0.1 (default, you can change if you want).

Now all you need to do is manually configure Ubuntu's ip address to use 192.168.0.1 as the default gateway and DNS servers, the xp box will forward on dns requests and you should find it works.

Have to say I haven't tried this and it may be complete rubbish but I hope it helps :)

soalan saya :

1) saya merancang utk mmbuka kdai membaiki pc.jd saya nk tahu apakah hukum jika saya menggunakan cd windows dan software2 ctak rompak org kafir,khususnya amerika sprti bill gates dlm mmbaiki pc customer?lgpun cd2 mrk yg original mncecah bratus-ratus bahkan beribu-ribu rnggit dipasaran.saya mngkin tdk mmpu beli yang original.adakah ini dibolehkan?

2) jika saya mnjual konsol permainan ps2 buatan jepun & xbox360 buatan microsoft cetak rompak serta cd2 permainan video & kmputer cetak rompak mereka cammana ustaz?adakah
hukumnya sama sperti di atas?adakah dibolehkan?

Fix Explorer.exe Unable to Locate Component Because Browseui.dll Was Not Found Error

how to fix this?

1. Download the attached file to a different computer.

2. unzip to your desktop. Copy the browseui.dll to a USB flash drive. Start up the sick computer and when it's up and running start Task Manager.

3. Click the Applications tab, select New Task. Next type cmd then click on OK. From the command prompt type copy f:\browseui.dll c:\windows\system32 then press the enter key. If you're using a USB flash drive substitute f: with the drive letter for the flash drive.

4. if command prompt give a message asking if you want to overwrite the file, press Y, then press enter.

5. If you don't get that message it will confirm the file was copied which means that the original browseui.dll is missing.

6. Next from the command prompt type regsvr32 browseui.dll then press the enter key. You should get a confirmation message that it was successful. You also may reboot first then type regsvr32 browseui.dll from the Stat Menu>Run after you success full login to your windows..

1. First, you need to install the GreaseMonkey firefox add-on (mungkin ni utk pengguna mozilla firefox sahaja)

2. Next, install the required script

3. Once finished, head for Google.

4. Double clicks the Google Logo and a box will appear similar to the figure below.


5. Now, you can type your own text ( letters and space ) and assign different color for each letter.

6. In color edit box, type the numbers: 1 - blue, 2 - red, 3 - yellow, 4 - green or other - random.

7. Click the “Change” button when finished and you will noticed the new Google Logo Text. :D

Camne Nak Connect ke Internet Menggunakan Hp Nokia Anda

1. download software pc suite di sini NOKIA PC SUITE atau sini jika link ini sudah expired : http://www.nokia.com.my/A41184811 ,pilih model hp nokia anda, (jika masih belum mempunyai software pc suite)

2. install


3. sambungkan cable usb antara hp nokia dan komputer anda apabila skrin seperti gambar di bawah appear.

bersedia utk membuat connection. selepas sambungkan pada hp nokia anda, pilih mode "NOKIA MODE" pada skrin hp. biarkan utk seketika sementara komputer meng"install" driver yang diperlukan sehingga keluar notice "hardware ready to use" pada bahagian bawah sebelah kanan monitor anda.

klik pada ikon CONNECT TO THE INTERNET. sebaik sahaja ikon berkenaan diklik, kotak ONE TOUCH ACCESS akan appear. klik pada setting, pastikan jenis hp yang dinyatakan adalah betul dengan jenis hp nokia anda. klik next, select network operator, select your network operator from list, pilih rangkaian anda, contohnya jika CELCOM, pilih CELCOM MALAYSIA.



6. bla bla bla lepas tu akan apear anda telah connect ke internet seperti gambar di bawah..


*connection dalam gambar memang slow sebab jenis hp yang saya gunakan hanya mampu memyambung pada connection GPRS sahaja..
